Shalam, many churches (congregation/assemblies) and people say that the day of the Lord is going to be glorious and that they can't wait. People also say I am just waiting on the Lord to return, but what they fell to realize is that the day of the Lord isn't going to be what people think it will be. Will anyone be singing oh happy day? No, but the elect of the Most High will. I will show you through scripture and precepts on how that day will be.



How will the day of Christ be (the second coming)?

Joel 1:15 Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.

Precepts to Joel 1:15:
Joel 2:3 A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.

Jeremiah 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

Amos 5:16-18 Therefore the LORD, the God of hosts, the Lord, saith thus; Wailing shall be in all streets; and they shall say in all the highways, Alas! alas! and they shall call the husbandman to mourning, and such as are skilful of lamentation to wailing.
17 And in all vineyards shall be wailing: for I will pass through thee, saith the LORD.
18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.

(The day of the Lord is a day of greater trouble which The Most High God will heap upon all those who are upon the earth. We should be fasting, praying and getting ourselves together spiritually.)


Joel 2:2 A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.

Gloominess - Causing gloom; dismal or depressing sad; sadden.

Precepts to Joel 2:2:
Amos 5:18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.

Joel 1:6 Awake, ye drunkards, and weep; and howl, all ye drinkers of wine, because of the new wine; for it is cut off from your mouth.

Exodus 10:14 And the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the coasts of Egypt: very grievous were they; before
them there were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall be such.

(We read that the day of the Lord is a day of darkness not happiness as the churches make it out to be. Its a time of exceeding great troubles and calamities. That's why its important to be doing the will of the Most High and staying in scripture.)


Joel 2:11 And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

Precepts to Joel 2:11:
Jeremiah 50:34 Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name: he shall throughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.

Numbers 24:23 And he took up his parable, and said, Alas, who shall live when God doeth this!

Malachi 3:2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:


(It says that the day of the Lord is very terrible, so may question is this: Why do the majority of the churches teach that everything is going to be alright and that you will be raptured off? Isaiah 13:6-13 Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.
7 Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt:
8 And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one
at another; their faces shall be as flames.
9 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof
out of it.
10 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon
shall not cause her light to shine.
11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease,
and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
12 I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.
13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his
fierce anger.

Precept to Isaiah 13:9:
Malachi 4:1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

Precept to Isaiah 13:10:
Matthew 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

Precepts to Isaiah 13:13:
Joel 3:16 The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.

Haggai 2:6 For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;

(The day of the Lord is a day of destruction, not happiness.)

Isaiah 5:19 That say, Let him make speed, and hasten his work, that we may see it: and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it!

Ezekiel 12:22 Son of man, what is that proverb that ye have in the land of Israel, saying, The days are prolonged, and every vision faileth?

Malachi 3:1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.

2 Peter 3:4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

(What do you think to get by it? Is darkness - All adversity, black and doleful. Not light - No joy, or comfort an it.)





What will people be doing when the Son of man return?

Matthew 24:37-39 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Precepts to Matthew 24:38:
Genesis 6:3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

Luke 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

1 Peter 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

(The scripture tells us when the Son of Man (Messiah) returns people will be eating drinking marrying and given in marriage, meaning the people will not obersve the time in which we are in. Also read Luke 17:26-30 as it says that people will also be planting building selling and buying things as if life will go on forever. People these are the last days we are living in stay focus on the Most High God of Israel.)




Will you be able to know when the Messiah comes back and the day and hour of that day?


2 Peter 3:9-10 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Precepts to 2 Peter 3:9:
Habakkuk 3:2 O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make
known; in wrath remember mercy.

Isaiah 30:18 And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.

Matthew 24:23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.

Luke 12:39 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.

Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Revelation 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

(We will not know that day or hour. The Messiah will come as a thief in the night. We will not know, thats why its important to be doing the will of the Most High storeing up works.)


Luke 12:39-40 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.
40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

1 Thessalonians 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

Revelation 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his
shame.

Precepts to Luke 12:40:
Matthew 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Mark 13:33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

1 Thessalonians 5:6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

2 Peter 3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

2 Peter 3:14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and
blameless.

(The scriptures tells us to be as a watchman waiting on a thief, likewise we are suppose to be like that waiting of the Son of Man (Christ) at an hour that we know not.)


Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Precepts to Matthew 24:36:
Acts 1:7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

1 Thessalonians 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

1 Thessalonians 5:10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

Zechariah 14:7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.

(Only the Most High God knoweth that day when the Son of Man comes.)



What can you do to prepare yourself for the Lord (Christ) second coming?



Luke 21:34-36 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

(We are suppose to be wacthful and always in prayer that we may be accounted worthy to escape all the evil in these last day.)


Ephesians 6:11-12 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

(We are suppose to put on the whole armour of the Most High God that we be able to stand agaiant the wiles of the devil in these last days and while serving the Most High God.)


1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.

Ceasing - To stop; Discontinue.

Precept to 1 Thessalonians 5:17:
Luke 18:1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

(We are to be praying without ceasing.)




Conclusion


The whole conclusion of this study lesson is to let people know that the day of the Lord (Messiah) isnt going to be a glorious day like the churches (assemblies/congregation) say it will be, nor will it be a day that you will be rapture off like many believe. People we must stay focus pray and always be watchful, for these are truly the last days.

Exodus 15:3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.

Precepts to Exodus 15:3:
Revelation 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

Psalms 83:18 That men may know that thou, whose name alone is AHAYAH, art the most high over all the earth.
